2025.05.13

On May 12, Heesung Catalysts Co., Ltd. officially declared its participation in K-RE100 (Korean Renewable Energy 100%), a government-led initiative organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). This milestone marks the company’s formal transition to becoming a renewable energy user.
By joining K-RE100, Heesung Catalysts has laid the foundation to transform its energy consumption structure toward sustainability and actively contribute to the global movement for renewable energy adoption and carbon neutrality.
K-RE100 is a voluntary program under which companies commit to sourcing 100% of their electricity from renewable energy. It represents Korea’s localized version of the global RE100 campaign, reflecting domestic market conditions while aligning with international sustainability standards.
Through this declaration, Heesung Catalysts now has access to a variety of renewable energy procurement methods—including Green Premium, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), and Renewable Energy Certificates (REC)—enabling the company to advance practical energy transition initiatives.
Participation also secures REC trading eligibility under Korea’s Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), enhancing both flexibility and execution capability in renewable energy procurement. This step is expected to have a positive impact on achieving long-term carbon neutrality goals.
The official declaration of renewable energy use also serves as a public demonstration of Heesung Catalysts’ strong commitment to sustainable management, reinforcing trust with stakeholders and strengthening the company’s ESG positioning.
Looking ahead, Heesung Catalysts will further solidify its vision as a “Catalyst-based technology leader enabling a carbon-neutral society.” By leveraging its technology-driven eco-friendly solutions, the company is committed to advancing both environmental responsibility and corporate value creation.
