Heesung Catalysts CEO Dr. Hyunsik Han Receives Special Award from the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers

Dr. Hyunsik Han, CEO of Heesung Catalysts Co., Ltd., was honored with the Idang Jeon Minje Special Award at the 2025 Spring Meeting and Annual Conference of the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers, held on April 24 at EXCO in Daegu, Korea.
The Idang Jeon Minje Special Award is presented to individuals who have achieved tangible industrial outcomes by successfully applying outstanding research results to the field, thereby advancing the chemical engineering industry.
With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Han has dedicated his career to the research, development, and commercialization of industrial catalysts across diverse sectors including automotive, marine, environmental, and petrochemical industries. His efforts have been instrumental in bridging the gap between laboratory research and commercialization, strengthening Korea’s technological competitiveness and paving the way for self-reliance in the domestic catalyst industry.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Han emphasized that catalyst technology plays a vital role in enhancing both productivity and energy efficiency. He also underscored Heesung Catalysts’ ongoing commitment to creating added value through precious metal catalysts and to advancing eco-friendly technologies. Regarding the water electrolysis market, he highlighted Korea’s strong competitiveness in terms of technical expertise and experience, while stressing the importance of long-term and consistent policy support.
