Safety100+: Celebrating Safety Culture Achievements and a New Beginning at Heesung Catalysts

2026.06.25

On June 23, Heesung Catalysts held the Safety100+ event to reflect on the achievements of its Safety100 initiative and recognize departments that demonstrated outstanding participation in safety activities.

Safety100+ was designed not as the conclusion of the 100-day Safety100 campaign, but as a symbol of the company’s commitment to continuing its journey toward a stronger safety culture. The event provided an opportunity to look back on the progress made over the past three months while reaffirming Heesung Catalysts’ commitment to building an even safer workplace.

Safety100: Building a Safety Culture Through Changes in Everyday Behavior

Safety100 was a company-wide safety culture initiative carried out from March 11 to June 18.

Launched under the goal of “100 Days, 100% Participation, 100% Commitment,” the project aimed to establish a sustainable safety culture by encouraging positive changes in employees’ daily behaviors and work habits.

Throughout the campaign, Heesung Catalysts promoted a variety of activities—including 3J5S workplace organization, risk assessment training, TBM (Tool Box Meeting), hazard identification, and field-centered safety inspections—to reinforce the idea that workplace safety is a shared responsibility embraced by every employee.

Reflecting on 100 Days of Progress

During the event, Mr. Jeong-min Seo, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Strategy, presented a video summarizing the progress of the Safety100 initiative, highlighting the major activities and improvements achieved throughout the campaign.

The video featured practical examples of workplace improvements through 3J5S activities, risk assessment training, safety experience programs, field inspections, and hazard identification efforts, demonstrating how safety culture has continued to evolve across the organization.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions to Safety Culture

Departments were evaluated based on their participation in a wide range of Safety100 activities, including hazard identification, TBM participation, 3J5S implementation, safety training attendance, and continuous improvement efforts.

As a result, the Quality Team, Automotive Environmental Catalyst Development Team, and Energy & Environmental Catalyst Development Team were recognized as Outstanding Safety100 Departments.

In addition, employees who demonstrated exceptional contributions through proactive risk assessment, hazard identification, and continuous safety improvements were awarded opportunities to participate in overseas benchmarking programs, recognizing their commitment to strengthening workplace safety.

The award-winning departments also shared their best practices, improvement activities, and experiences, providing valuable insights and encouraging the exchange of successful safety initiatives across the company.

“Safety Protects Both Ourselves and Our Colleagues”

CEO, Hyun-sik Han expressed his sincere appreciation to all employees for their active participation throughout the Safety100 initiative.

He emphasized that the project was not only about improving workplace safety but also about creating a culture where employees actively protect both themselves and their colleagues.

The CEO also highlighted the importance of risk assessment, noting that identifying and evaluating potential risks before accidents occur should become a natural part of the way Heesung Catalysts works every day.

Safety100+: Beyond 100 Days, Safety Continues

Safety100+ represents not the end of a 100-day project, but the beginning of the next stage in strengthening the company’s safety culture.

Building on the foundation established through Safety100, Heesung Catalysts will continue to promote practical safety initiatives and further strengthen a workplace where every employee can work with confidence.

With the belief that small daily actions build a strong safety culture—and that a strong safety culture builds a sustainable company—Heesung Catalysts will continue its journey toward creating a safer workplace for everyone.
